Prof. Terry Rudolph

Professor of Quantum Physics, Imperial College London

Terry is a Professor of Quantum Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Department of Physics, Imperial College London. Prof. Rudolph got his PhD from the University of Toronto in 1998. He was then a lecturer at the same university, before becoming a postdoc in Viena, and later a Researcher at Bell Labs, before moving to Imperial College London. His research focuses on Quantum Information and the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics. Notably, he is one of the discoverers of the PBR Theorem, which allows for a formal and rigorous test on the ontology of quantum states. In 2016 he co-founded PsiQuantum, a silicon valley based company that is building a photonic quantum computer. He is the author of the popular science book “Q is for Quantum
