Okumba Miruka

Dr. Okumba Miruka is a pioneer and leading gender consultant in Kenya. In the last 30 years, he has consulted for various United Nations organisations, the World Bank, international and local
NGOs, donor organisations and national government institutions. He holds a PhD (Gender and Development Studies), Master of Arts (Gender and Development Studies) and Bachelor of
Education (Arts) all from Kenyatta University. He is currently an adjunct lecturer at The Co-operative University of Kenya, gender columnist for Nation Media Group and researcher in the
Kenyatta University Women’s Economic Empowerment Hub.
