Previously, he worked as a senior manager of advanced analytics at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and taught data science at the Toronto Business School. He holds a Ph.D. Degree in applied mathematics from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and an MSc degree in applied mathematics from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. He attended AIMS South Africa in 2006. His main research interest includes theoretical and applied data science. In particular, he is interested in solving problems related to health, education, and agriculture using machine learning. He is also interested in the approximation theory of deep neural networks, and spectral analysis of non-selfadjoint operators resulting from the linearization of nonlinear PDEs.
