Dr. Cecil Naphtaly Moro Ouma

Dr. Ouma is a seasoned researcher dedicated to academic leadership and mentorship. His expertise spans materials sciences, climate change, smart cities, and the integration of Industry 4.0 in education and research. With a Ph.D. in Computational Physics from the University of Pretoria, his postdoctoral tenure at CSIR, Pretoria, focused on pioneering research in modelling engineering nanoparticles. As a research scientist with HySA-Infrastructure, he led groundbreaking research on modelling materials for hydrogen storage and hydrogen value chains, supervised postgraduates, and forged impactful collaborations. Recognized as a Next Einstein Forum Fellow in 2019, Dr. Ouma champions research excellence and thought leadership, boasting an NRF South Africa research rating of C2 and a legacy of cross-continental research collaboration and project leadership.

At AIMS Research and innovation Center, Dr Ouma as Resident Research aims to spearhead research within the domain of application of knowledge graphs, (generative) artificial intelligence (Gen) AI in Carbon trading (markets, offsets, credits etc.), crafting future fuels including Hydrogen as an energy vector as well as materials for fuel cell applications.
