Chanelle is a Ph.D. student in Physics at Stellenbosch University and at the Quantum Leap Africa – African Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Rwanda. She holds a bachelor’s in mathematics and computer science (scientific computing) from the University of Ngaoundere and a master’s in mathematics (quantum cryptography) from Quantum Leap Africa and QuSoft – CWI (Centrum Wiskunde and Informatica) Amsterdam. Her research interests include quantum cryptography, quantum machine learning, quantum algorithms and complexity, and data science. Chanelle’s current project is on the optimization of quantum algorithms for classification problems with applications in radio astronomy and in health care.

Research Projects:
My research aims to review and propose possible optimization of quantum subroutines for some machine learning algorithms. Then, implement improved versions of the latter on real data.
