PhD in Quantum Information

Quantum Information science encompasses a number of powerful new quantum technologies, including
quantum computing and communication, quantum sensors, and quantum materials. Africa urgently
needs to develop its expertise for it to capitalize on these coming developments. The program targets
students with knowledge of quantum information, including both theory and its applications, advanced
expertise in quantum information science and in home program disciplines, as well as training in
research.
Students are recruited both locally and internationally work on problems related to and anticipating
powerful new quantum technologies, including quantum computing and communication, quantum
material & devices, and fundamental physics in preparation of Africa for the coming quantum
revolution.
