Quantum Information

Quantum Information encompasses a number of powerful new quantum technologies, including quantum computing and communication, quantum sensors, and quantum materials. Africa urgently needs to develop its expertise in order to be ready to capitalize on these coming developments. QLA’s scientific goal is to develop and utilize the power of quantum information science for the benefit of Africa and the wider humanity.

Based on our goal of preparing Africa for the coming quantum revolution, QLA has built a strong partnership with major international laboratories, universities, and research centers where there is strong coordination and a continuous exchange of personnel between QLA and international partners. This helps build expertise and minimize the risks inherent in building expensive experimental prototypes.

QLA recruits both local and international researchers to work on problems related to these new quantum technologies. The existing strong partnership between QLA and major international laboratories, universities, and research centers specializing in Quantum Information makes this an achievable possibility for Africa. QLA research also explores overlaps between Machine Learning and Quantum Information.
