About Quantum Leap Africa
Quantum Leap Africa (QLA) was created by the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) to catalyze top quality high impact research in data science, smart systems engineering and drive the future IT revolution through quantum information. It is also mandated to train the next generation of innovators in information science and technology.
QLA enhances the intellectual and educational environment and encourages the growth of a major technology community in Africa. Top lecturers and researchers are drawn to Africa by the exciting opportunity to contribute to Africa’s development by sharing their advanced knowledge and skills in science and technology. QLA will also inspire and motivate the next generation of Africa’s youth to pursue scientific and technical careers.

Governance
Quantum Leap Africa is governed by the AIMS International Governing Board (IGB). This International Governing Board oversees a regular independent financial audit that provides accountability to QLA’s funders and stakeholders. It has a Scientific Advisory Council made up of eminent international scientists who provide scientific guidance and direction as well as independent reviews to ensure the highest standards of quality for the QLA’s programs and other scientific and academic ‘products’.
